President Bola Ahmed Tinubu yesterday declare open di 9th Africa Agricultural Science Week. E call on all African countries make dem put more money into agricultural research, science and innovation so say food security for di continent go improve.
Di President wey Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari represent talk say better agricultural research na di backbone to get food security, grow economy and transform agriculture for Africa.
Di event happen same time with di 10th General Assembly of di Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa. Agricultural scientists from across Africa, government officials, policy makers, innovators, and development partners all dey there.
Kyari talk say no country don ever get lasting prosperity if dem no first invest for science to transform agriculture.
E add say even though Africa get plenty arable land, biodiversity and young people, all those things alone no go bring prosperity. Make we add deliberate investment for research, innovation, strong institutions and good leadership.
According to di minister, di future of di continent go depend on di knowledge we dey generate, di technologies we dey develop, and di partnerships we dey build to modernize agriculture.
