US don begin new wave of tariffs on Friday and Nigeria dey among the 60 countries wey dem target.
This new tax come replace the old global duty wey President Donald Trump roll out earlier this year, wey don expire.
How much be the tariff?
E dey between 10 percent to 12.5 percent. E affect big economies like China, India and European Union. Because of this, Beijing and other countries don dey protest.
US Trade Representative, Jamieson Greer talk say:
"United States don ban goods wey dem produce with forced labour for almost 100 years, and we dey enforce am well well. Na high time make our trading partners do the same thing."
E also talk say the countries wey dem target dey do most of US trade.
Wetin happen before?
After Supreme Court cancel Trump own tariffs for February, e take am as big blow to im power to just dey impose steep levies anyhow.
So Trump administration quick use another law to bring back 10 percent tariff on imports. But that one only last 150 days and e expire on Friday.
Now this new tariff don take over.
